David and Shirlene have been RENZ hosts for about 15 years. They have a large Dairy Farm near Geraldine, New Zealand.
David and I have always been passionate about training only New Zealand staff to keep the knowledge within NZ, but after our first trainee we were hooked! Our concerns of recruiting unknown staff quickly faded away as we found them to be honest, reliable and hardworking. They bring a fresh energy and motivation to our team, we pride ourselves on teamwork and looking back believe we could not have been as successful in team building without the contribution from RENZ for what has now been over a decade. For trainees to want to travel to the other side of the world and experience life away from family means they are already self-motivated which is very refreshing to see. It has been fantastic for our children over the years to experience other cultures through the eyes of trainees, and we have made lasting relationships traveling ourselves and staying with our trainees once they return home. Yes more time is involved with their initial induction, communication, training, coaching and taking the time to help them understand the requirement of the job, but this has served us well and we reap the rewards once they grasp our systems. Concentrating on these things has helped us increase our effectiveness and efficiencies not only with trainees but the team and business as a whole. Having trainees has over the years also made us reflect on how and why we run the business the way we do. Thank you RENZ for the fantastic service you have provided for us over the years, the potential applicants you have provided have made our recruiting so much more enjoyable. The network and lines of communication you provide for trainees through newsletters, events, outings, holidays, and pub nights are, I am sure, for them a life line to making this an even more pleasurable experience. The work and dedication that you put is very much appreciated. David and I have both found our RENZ experience an absolute pleasure. |
